My interest in design, especially typography, was sparked by my art teacher in the boarding school I attended for over 8 years in Germany.
I was fortunate to learn traditional letterpress, screen printing, and other forms of printmaking at a young age. I began my formal studies at the Schule für Gestaltung in Basel, Switzerland before moving to the United States where I earned a BFA in Graphic Design from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Later, the power of design to make a difference inspired me to pursue a MA in Social Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore.
I have held graphic design positions at the American Booksellers Association, Bronx Community College (CUNY), the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University where I created the conservatory’s signature alumni magazine from scratch and oversaw production from creative concept to final delivery.

As a user experience analyst under contract to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and other federal agencies I audited web-based IT applications and improved user interface design and content.
My passion for public interest projects led me to complete a master’s degree in social design at MICA, applying my creative problem-solving skills and incorporating human-centered design practices to address complex issues facing society. Embedded in a social innovation team at the Baltimore City Health department I helped to create a multi-media campaign addressing stigma around HIV building on ideation and prototyping techniques.

Lately, I've been exploring Tableau and Adobe Premiere and created a video for a successful virtual fundraising event. I also volunteered on an election campaign for Baltimore City Council and learned the the fine art of door knocking.
